The Saparmurat Hajji Mosque ((トルクメン語:Saparmyrat Hajy metjidi)) is a mosque in Gökdepe, Turkmenistan. It was built from 1994 to 1995, during the rule of Saparmurat Turkmenbashi. Erected in memory of the soldiers, defenders of the fortress Geokdepe. It is a prominent landmark in Gökdepe with its four minarets.〔http://archnet.org/library/sites/one-site.jsp?site_id=1822〕 == History == The project has developed Ashgabat architect Kakajan Durdyyev. The mosque was opened in 1995 and named in honor of the President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov pilgrimage to Mecca during the Hajj in 1992. The mosque was built by the French company Bouygues in one year.〔()〕 In 2008, the mosque has revolutionized Turkish firm «SUR Turizm Insaat Tijaret ve sanayi LTD STI». Contractor has design and construction of facilities for the rite of "sadaqah" for 1000 and the museum building and landscaping of the adjacent territory.
